I'm Mel Rosenthal - a coach, mentor and writer working with leaders globally from my home in Melbourne, Australia.

I help founders and executives navigate the messy challenges that come with growth and leadership. I spot the patterns others miss and cut through complexity without ignoring the hard things. I ask the questions that matter, challenge assumptions with care, and help you find clarity.

My approach comes from what I call "informed curiosity". I use my commercial background (15 years leading Product, Marketing and Innovation teams) combined with over 4,500 coaching conversations to know where to dig deeper and when to push harder. I'm commercially minded, straight-talking, and pragmatic.

I developed 52conversations.com, a card game that creates the conversations that matter, because I believe dialogue is how we unlock new insights together.

I also have a side project underway. I'm currently writing a book called "I Wish I Could Tell Mum" about the experiences of adult children when they have a parent with dementia - exploring the complex emotions, practical challenges, and unexpected moments of connection that come with this journey.

What Drives Me

I strive to do good and to be good. I'm focused on working with companies and leaders who are making a positive difference - whether you're a purpose-driven venture, a medical research institute working to cure cancer, or an executive building a responsible culture in a large corporation. The definition of "good" is broad, but my intent is clear.

I know what I know and what I don't know. I'm careful about taking on work that leverages my expertise and quick to refer opportunities that aren't my specialty to others in my network. I'm constantly challenging myself to learn and grow - partly because I love it, and partly because it keeps me connected to the discomfort my clients feel when they're stretching too.

I'm committed to the daily practice of taking care of my physical and mental health so I can do my best work for clients and be present for my family.

My Credentials

I'm a Professional Certified Coach accredited by the International Coaching Federation and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). I hold a Bachelor of Commerce (First Class Honours) from the University of Western Australia and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
